If fingernails and teeth are both made out of enamal. then how come fingernails grow so fast and teeth dont?

This has been killing me..If fingernails and teeth are both made out of enamal. then how come fingernails grow so fast and teeth dont?
Teeth are only covered by enamel, below them is bone. And I am rather positive that nails are made from a slightly different material.





Some animals have fast-growing teeth, e.g. rabbits. Human teeth probably probably do not grow b/c our monkey ancestors mostly ate soft fruit, which did not damage teeth, so no need to re-grow itIf fingernails and teeth are both made out of enamal. then how come fingernails grow so fast and teeth dont?
